"Ishi" Akris by Walter Steiger!

Unadorned minimalism of Albert Kriemler's Akris Spring 2011 collection in Paris… 

The vaguely fetishistic footwear created especially for the show by Walter Steiger. Inspired by Kriemler's recent trip to Japan ("ishi" is Japanese for "stone").

Paul Steiger, one of the third generation of Steigers, he explained; "The toes are pointing downward – exactly the opposite of classic high heels, and the view from the front of the model's leg reminds me of a ballerina dancing en pointe. It's a revolutionary concept."
